We don’t know about you, but Sundays for us have always been about family. It’s the day of the week where we catch up with our grandparents over a delicious Sunday roast, hear about their week and laugh at the stories we’ve heard hundreds of times before. Our grandparents really are special and even when they’re no longer with us, the little things they’ve left behind, like their handwritten notes or photographs, carry so much meaning.
This Grandparents’ Day, an annual occasion that is happening on Sunday 7th September 2025 in the US and Sunday 5th October in 2025, is the perfect chance to celebrate that love and the memories that have shaped who we are as people today. It’s a day to pause and appreciate the people who shaped our lives in ways big and small.
What is Grandparents’ Day?
Grandparents’ Day is all about recognising and celebrating the role grandparents play in our families. It’s a day to show appreciation for their support, stories, guidance and the unique ways they’ve influenced our lives. Traditionally, it’s celebrated with family visits, phone calls and small gifts, but at its heart, it’s really just about showing our appreciation and making more memories we can hold onto.
For some of us, Grandparents’ Day is still a day we can visit our loved ones, but for others, their grandparents are no longer within reach and celebrating the day feels a little harder. No matter which you are, know that you can still celebrate this day in style and in honour of them.
Remembering Them on Grandparents’ Day with Memorial Jewellery
One of the most personal ways to remember a grandparent on Grandparents’ Day is through memorial jewellery and in our opinion, handwriting jewellery in particular feels perfectly fitting to the occasion.
When you think about it, grandparents have never been very good at sending texts or social media messages. Unless your grandma or grandad is incredibly tech savvy, they won’t know how to write happy birthday on your Facebook wall or send random “I love you’s” through Instagram DMs.
But you know what, thank goodness! Because instead, they write letters, cards and little notes in their own handwriting to remind us how much they love us. That handwriting is unique to them. It’s personal and something you can hold onto, long after they’re gone. And with handwriting jewellery you can then turn their handwritten words into keepsakes you can carry with you every day.
Beyond handwriting, there are so many other jewellery options that are perfect for celebrating your loved ones on National Grandparents’ Day. For example, fingerprint jewellery preserves the physical touch of a loved one while photo jewellery lets you always keep your favourite image of them close. And for those wanting a more permanent connection, our ashes jewellery – from self-fill pieces to ashes into resin designs – turns a part of your loved one into a lasting keepsake.
To Wrap Up
No matter where you’ll be spending this Sunday, whether you’re with your grandparents, remembering them from afar, or simply reflecting on the memories you shared over a Sunday roast, know that we’ll be thinking of you. And as always, if you’re ever ready to create something special to honour your them, Inscripture is here to help you keep their memory close with our extensive Memorial Jewellery collection.
