Personalised Jewellery

Frequently Asked Questions

What is personalised jewellery?

Personalised jewellery is jewellery made unique to you, usually by engraving it with something meaningful. At Inscripture that can be a name, a date or a short message, or something far more personal, like real handwriting, a fingerprint or a photo of someone you love.

What can be engraved on personalised jewellery?

Depending on the design, Inscripture can engrave names, initials, dates or a short message, as well as real handwriting, fingerprints, handprints, footprints, paw prints and photos. Each product page shows exactly what that piece can carry, so you can choose the option that means the most to you.

What should I engrave on a necklace?

Names and dates are the most popular choices, but a few words can say much more. Many people choose a nickname, a favourite saying, a private joke or a message in a loved one’s own handwriting. Inscripture recommends keeping messages short so the engraving stays clear and easy to read.

Can I have the back of my jewellery engraved?

Yes, some Inscripture designs can be engraved on the back as well as the front. The reverse is a lovely place for something private, such as a longer message, a loved one’s handwriting or a date that matters, which stays close to you without being on show.

What’s the difference between personalised and memorial jewellery?

Personalised jewellery celebrates anyone or any moment, from a new baby to a wedding. Memorial jewellery is made to remember someone who has died. Inscripture’s memorial pieces often carry a loved one’s handwriting, fingerprint or photo, and some designs can hold a small amount of ashes.

Who is personalised jewellery a good gift for?

Personalised jewellery makes a meaningful gift for almost anyone, including mums, partners, grandparents, children and friends. Inscripture’s personalised jewellery suits birthdays, anniversaries, new babies and Christmas, and it can also be a comforting gift for someone who is grieving, because it keeps the people they love close.
