Using your Inkless Print Kit is easy and safe, here’s how to get the best results:
1. Prepare the Kit: Inside, you’ll find a special card and an inkless wipe. The wipe might feel dry, but that’s normal. Don’t add water to it, as it won’t work properly then.
2. Timing is Key: Only open the wipe when you’re ready. It can be used multiple times, but it gets less effective with each use. If you’re taking prints of a child, try when they’re calm or asleep.
3. Clean and Dry: Make sure the body part (hand, foot, or paw) is clean and dry. Place the special card on a flat surface with the glossy side up. If you accidentally use the wrong side, just flip the card, reapply the wipe, and try again.
4. Avoid Unwanted Prints: If you’re taking prints for someone else, be careful not to touch the card and transfer your own prints.
5. Taking Footprints: Gently but firmly press the foot onto the card, rolling from heel to toe. Hold for 5-10 seconds, then lift straight up.
6. Taking Handprints: Roll the hand from the base of the palm to the fingers. Again, hold for 5-10 seconds, then lift straight up. For babies, it’s often easier when they’re sleeping.
7. For Fingerprints: Roll the finger across the card. Do it in both directions for a clearer print. It’s a good idea to take multiple prints.
8. For Paw Prints: With your pet standing, gently press and slightly roll their paw on the card. Visit our website for tips on preparing your pet for prints.
9. Print Quality: Prints will darken over a few minutes. If the card or body part moves, the print may smudge, so you might need to retake it.
10. Aftercare: Wash the printed area with soapy water.
Remember, taking prints can be challenging, so having someone to help can make it easier. Each card should give at least 8 baby/paw prints or multiple fingerprints. The quicker you are, the more prints you can take.
