The New Normal
Week three of lockdown and we are gradually adjusting into our new normal. Here at Inscripture HQ we have been leaning heavily on our online exercise regimes. It’s been giving shape to our days and giving us the energy to power through. Reading inspiring uplifting books and following motivational creators online are also keeping us going! We thought we would share some with you ♡
Find Your Mantra
We have just launched our new “Mantra” range and now seems a fitting time to adopt a mantra if you don’t already have one. Lots of yogis have a mantra they use during meditation. Something to centre themselves and bring them back when the inevitable brain wander starts to happen. It can be something really simple like “I am calm” or just “breathe”.
As self-confessed yogis we have been using our practice to calm, stretch and breathe. All you need is a mat and your iPad and a quiet 40 minutes.
We have been doing @lisaseretnyyoga classes. Super easy to access through zoom and £15 per month with daily classes online and extras- note the blissful guided meditation last night! We are piling on our mantra jewels before we hit the mat! It also reminds us of our personal phrase whilst in downward dog! ♡
As well as yoga we are trying to fit in some cardio to burn off all that incoming Easter chocolate! Jokes aside a 20/30 minutes cardio hit does wonders for the mind and body. We are absolutely thrilled that Cecilia from the amazing @Resultswithcecilia has created a quick on the go workout Just for you guys! Click here to access her work out on our YouTube Channel. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss out on new uploads! ♡
It’s all about balance
All this being said, we are firm believers in taking each day as it comes at the moment. You may have a day when you don’t feel remotely motivated or upbeat. This is also fine and you should go with it, hit the sofa, call your mates or just have a long hot soak in the bath and relax. It’s all about balance and it’s such a tricky one to achieve so letting go of any self-judgement is the best thing you can do. Book wise we have been going from super immersive fiction to investigating things we have always been curious about ♡
For the chick-lit, it’s been Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Enviable rockstar lifestyles, inimitable fashion and a stellar story that will stay with you long after you close the last page. ♡
For something a little deeper, we have been dipping our toes into Moonology. The study of that wonderful ball in the sky. Whether you believe it can control our emotions or not, it’s a fascinating read ♡
We’ll be out clapping for all the amazing NHS staff at 8 pm tonight – a small way to show our appreciation of the AMAZING work they are doing. If there is someone who is making a difference in your community during this time, head over to our Facebook page and nominate them for our Everyday Hero Prize. Each Wednesday during April we will choose one inspiring individual to receive a £75 Inscripture voucher to spend on anything in our range. Entries for this week’s prize close at midnight on Tuesday 14th April.
We’ve also launched our NHS Rainbow Stretch Bracelet – 20% of all sales will be donated to support our NHS during the COVID-19 emergency. We also offer all those fabulous people who work for the NHS a 25% discount on our range ♡
So who should we be tuning into on social? We have been loving these accounts for shaking up our working from home fashion, makeup and food inspiration.
The gorgeous Pascale has been fuelling our sweaty Betty addiction like crazy! We can attest that the 7/8 leggings she recommended are amazing. The perfect length for those Shorter gals! She’s like a dose of sunshine and rocks a dress like no other. Also note- seriously cute dog.
Elle’s IGTV makeup tutorials are inspiring us to fall back in love with having some fun with colour. If you find yourself at a loss for something to do, have a go at creating her signature smoky eyes. And let us know if you do, tag us at @inscripture we would love to see.
Bored of all the “banana bread” on Instagram? Check out minimalist baker. All recipes are 10 ingredients or less and baked in less than 30 mins. Our kind of food inspiration!
