How To Get More Sleep

April has arrived, along with an extra hour and the promise of warmer climes. We are also well into lockdown, a situation completely alien to us so we thought we’d bring you some wellbeing boosters to help you feel more relaxed and rested.

Unable to sleep?

Us too. An over-anxious mind and too much time to think make for a restless nights well, rest! We spoke to Jo Foster, founder of wellness brand Kiss The Moon for some tips. “ So many people are struggling to sleep in these difficult times, so you’re not alone. Spend a good 15 minutes before bed to really switch off (low lighting, pillow mist, sleep balm on your pulse points, read a book, slow breathing techniques etc). They all help to get you in the zone for sleep. More importantly, put the phone down as the blue light it emits really affects your brain and keeps it awake.”

And Breathe

Here at Inscripture we love the Calm app. Free to download ( fees apply for different packages but there is a free basic course). There are over 100 guided meditations helping to lower stress and anxiety, thus aiding a better nights rest. You will also find soothing sleep stories which are tried and tested by our team and truly work!

Your Wellbeing Bookshelf

Being able to travel without leaving the house. The only way to make this happen currently is to get completely lost in a great book, here are some of our favourites.

1. Everything I know about love by Dolly Alderton
2. Daisy Jones And the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. One of our faves from last year is coming to our screens soon with Riley Keough as Daisy! Read it now!
3. Expectation by Anna Hope.
4. Circe by Madeline Miller
5. The Power Of Crystal Healing by Emma Lucy

Keep your page with our new Personalised Magnetic Bookmarks (shop here)  – they can be personalised with any message of your choice. Perhaps your wellbeing mantra or a quote from your favourite book?

The power of a hot bath, maybe with one of the above books, a warming cup of herbal tea or indeed a large glass of wine! Is also a lovely way to unwind from your day.
